Galerie Soho was Axelle’s first retail gallery. It opened its door in 1998 on busy Spring Street by West Broadway in the heart of SoHo New York. It flourished for 10 years, selling original paintings and limited edition prints by mostly European artists with a French flare. When rent became prohibitive, the gallery was forced to move and relocated in the new Chelsea arts district. For a short period it operated out of a large space at the corner of 20th & West Street before it moved to 25th Street soon after. In late 2010, Axelle’s wish to return to Soho was granted, when it found its perfect current bi-level location on West Broadway, just South of Houston Street.
